Spanish Property Buying Guide

Here are just a few ways that can make the property work for you

Short Term Rental
You will find that your circle of friends and family expands. Obviously you may not want to charge them too much, but anything is better than nothing, and it will certainly help you to recoup some money back from what is a substantial investment by you.

There are 3 banded seasons: HIGH (July and August) – MID (May, June and September) and LOW (the remainder of the year excluding Public Holidays).

Mid Term Rental
Usually you can rent out for up to 11 months of the year at a fixed rental. This type of rental could include people who are looking to buy in Spain, or people waiting for their own property to be completed.

Short Term Commercial Rental
A Letting Agency can take care of this type of rental. They would charge an agreed commission and requires little involvement from the owner.

Long Term Rental
This is for periods in excess of 12 months. You need to consider this option very carefully in order to comply with legislation and sitting tenants’ rights. You should appoint a managing agent who will make regular checks on the property, organise maintenance of the property, act as a keyholder and generally take care of any administration duties.
